SAERIA Yangling Declaration

　　Throughout ages, the ancient Silk Road starting from Shaanxi, China, has been a token of connectivity and integration between oriental and western civilizations. The closer agricultural education and research cooperation between countries along the Silk Road and active inheritance and propagation of the Silk Road historical civilization is with great significance for promoting agricultural development, ecological construction, economic prosperity and civilization exchange among countries and regions along the Silk Road.

　　Initiated by the Northwest A&F University and indebted to the active response by the universities, institutions and enterprises from the involved countries and regions along the Silk Road, representatives of the members joined each other in Yangling, China, and voluntarily launched  the “Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance” (Hereafter referred to as "the Alliance").

　　Adhering to the Silk Road spirit and carrying forward the principle of "peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and win-win progress", the alliance will commit itself to personnel training, scientific research, technology extension, people-to-people exchange, policy research, etc. as well to jointly accelerating the progress and development of agricultural education and technology research in countries and regions along the Silk Road through setting up cooperation platform, innovating cooperation mechanism and strengthening resource sharing.

　　The Alliance held the regular "Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Cooperation Forum" for members to discusses on the major issues concerning the national economy and people's livelihood through multilateral and bilateral communication, also encouraged members to jointly establish educational institutions and technology innovation platforms, technology extension base and the Silk Road Culture Exchange Center and actively lead, demonstrate and expand the effectiveness of cooperation.

　　Sticking to the notion of openness and sharing, we cordially open our arms to more institutions, advance our mutual understanding, boost consensus, enhance cooperation and deliver greater contributions to economic and social development and cultural prosperity in the countries and regions along the Silk Road.
