The first meeting of leading group for the construction of overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration park was held in NWAFU

In order to give full play to the role of the overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration parks in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, and implement the spirit of the special meeting of the demonstration parks, on August 6, vice president Luo Jun hosted the first meeting of the leading group for the construction of overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration park. Heads from the SCO Projects Office, the division of science and technology extension, the personnel department, the division of state-owned assets management, the division of finance, science and technology development institute, graduate school, college of agronomy, college of life science, college of horticulture and other relevant divisions attended the meeting.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of the special meeting on the construction of demonstration park on June 16, as well as the decision of forming the leading group of the construction of the overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration parks. In this meeting, the planning and progress of the construction of demonstration park were reported, as well as the progress of the tasks in making relevant management regulations of the demonstration park undertaken by relevant departments. The participants also discussed the current problems we face and the future working plan.

Luo Jun pointed out that the university has made remarkable achievements in the construction of the overseas agricultural science and technology demonstration parks in the past three years, and that have become an important part of the work of Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance. On improving the construction quality and boosting the upgraded version of extension mode, he specified four requirements: First, the function of the overseas demonstration parks should be clarified, the operation of demonstration parks should be standardized, and the principle of "consultation, co-construction and sharing" should be carried out throughout the construction of demonstration parks. Second, we should refine the management system of the demonstration parks construction and offer good logistic support. Third, it is necessary to improve the working mechanism of the leading group for the construction of the overseas demonstration park, activating a mechanism that holds periodical or occasional consultations, and solve the problems encountered in the construction process of the demonstration parks in time. Fourth, all divisions should make full use of the available resources. We also need to visit and reach the relevant ministries regularly to make sure we understand the updated supporting policies, and explore every possible avenues of securing various projects and funds to solve the problems of sustainable development of the demonstration parks.
